Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer XAVIER ALEXIS ROSADO ("XAR") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?

XAR : I obtained Associate in Science of Fashion Design Degree in Pontifical Catholic University of PR and Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fashion Design in AI Miami International University of Art & Design. My design is inspire en my culture and handmade techniques that make the dress unique.

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?

XAR : I chose to become designer because my ideas can be reality.

DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?

XAR : I become a designer and I love it.

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?

XAR : Couture Dresses.

DL: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?

XAR : My best advice is to develop your own style and be persistent.

DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?

XAR : A good designer is who works hard for a best quality product and great designer is who obtained the fame & legacy.

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?

XAR : Visual look, silhouette and quality of the textiles.

DL: What is the value of good design? Why should everyone invest in good design?

XAR : Good design is what my customer feels satisfaction and happiness with the product.

DL: What would you design and who would you design for if you had the time?

XAR : High couture fashion design

DL: What is the dream project you haven’t yet had time to realize?

XAR : I would like to published a Science Fiction Book & works for a high couture company.

DL: What is your secret recipe of success in design, what is your secret ingredient?

XAR : Be authentic & persistent.

DL: Who are some other design masters and legends you get inspired from?

XAR : Isabel Toledo Designer.

DL: What are your favorite designs by other designers, why do you like them?

XAR : Cristian Dior designer have the best quality design & construction techniques.

DL: What is your greatest design, which aspects of that design makes you think it is great?

XAR : Visualization of the capability and connect with the people's beauty.

DL: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?

XAR : Practice and new trends techniques in the fashion design.

DL: If you hadn’t become a designer, what would you have done?

XAR : Art Direct and Science Fiction Book writer.

DL: How do you define design, what is design for you?

XAR : Having opportunities to create new ideas that transform and provide development to the society.

DL: Who helped you to reach these heights, who was your biggest supporter?

XAR : My family

DL: What were the obstacles you faced before becoming a design master?

XAR : I would like to have more financial support to complete my education and new projects.

DL: How do you think designers should present their work?

XAR : Good construction quality & best visual quality.

DL: What’s your next design project, what should we expect from you in future?

XAR : Science Fiction Book.

XAR : Create a worldwide product.

XAR : I would like to help to create good quality product. I would create a different scenes for every season.

DL: How long does it take you to finalize a design project?

XAR : 1 month approximately.

XAR : Sketch paper.

XAR : Be inspire & desire to grow up professionally every day.

XAR : Design sets the trends.

DL: What is the role of technology when you design?

XAR : No accessible to the worldwide.

DL: What kind of design software and equipment do you use in your work?

XAR : Photoshop, Ilustration, Gebber Acumark.

DL: What is the role of the color, materials and ambient in design?

XAR : Determines the essential inspiration in the design.

DL: What do you wish people to ask about your design?

XAR : How you get inspire?

DL: When you see a new great design or product what comes into your mind?

XAR : Develop the product with appreciation and visualization.

DL: Who is your ideal design partner? Do you believe in co-design?

XAR : Ideal design partner is who is engage in job and can be responsive.

DL: Which people you interacted had the most influence on your design?

XAR : Miss Universe and influencers models in the fashion design industry.

DL: Which books you read had the most effect on your design?

XAR : Editorials.

DL: How did you develop your skills as a master designer?

XAR : Fashion Design studies and my work experience.

DL: Irrelative of time and space, who you would want to meet, talk and discuss with?

XAR : President Donald Trump.

DL: How do you feel about all the awards and recognition you had, is it hard to be famous?

XAR : Recognitions and awards are the fundamental for a good designer. I don't know about fame but I think is depends how you handled it.

DL: What is your favorite color, place, food, season, thing and brand?

XAR : Blue, my house, soups, summer, watching movies and Dior brand.

DL: Please tell us a little memoir, a funny thing you had experienced as a designer?

XAR : Teamwork.

DL: When you were a little child, was it obvious that you would become a great designer?

XAR : Become an actor and writer because inspire me confidence.

DL: What do you think about future; what do you see will happen in thousand years from now?

XAR : I will continue to make my best effort and trust in God.
