Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Jing Chen ("JC") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?

JC : Entrusted by a friend who has been engaged in the liquor distribution business for a long time, I had the honor to participate in the design of high-end liquor packaging with the aim of deeply interpreting and promoting traditional Chinese culture. The project aims to closely integrate the thousand-year treasure of Chinese liquor with the profound essence of traditional culture through packaging design. This will create a cultural symbol that highlights the quality of the liquor and resonates with consumers, ultimately enhancing the brand image and market competitiveness. I obtained a bachelor's degree in Visual Communication Design from a well-known art institute in China. During my time in school, I systematically acquired interdisciplinary knowledge in areas such as graphic design, three-dimensional modeling, materials science, and consumer behavior. This helped me build a comprehensive and strong theoretical foundation for design.

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?

JC : The traditional Chinese culture, encompassing Confucianism, Buddhism, and Taoism, serves as a wellspring of creative inspiration for me, enabling my artistic endeavors to delve deeper. Influenced by my uncle when I was young, I became a designer due to my strong interest in art.

DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?

JC : I chose to be a designer; it was not something I was forced into.

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?

JC : What I design is not important; what is crucial is the practical problems my design can solve for others.

DL: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?

JC : Young designers need to enhance their proficiency in professional knowledge, practical experience, industry insight, innovative thinking, and other aspects through continuous efforts and investment. Only by doing so can we maintain a leading position in the rapidly changing design industry and create more influential and valuable design works.

DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?

JC : In my opinion, the difference between a decent designer and a great designer is mainly reflected in several aspects. First of all, excellent designers pay attention to technology and practice, can skillfully use a variety of tools and software for design, and can perform creative expression according to customer needs. The great designers not only have excellent technical ability, but more importantly, they have profound cultural heritage and extensive knowledge reserve, and integrate the social, historical, humanistic and other aspects of thinking in their works. Second, excellent designers generally focus only on the project themselves and strive to complete the task correctly. Great designers, on the other hand, are more concerned with overall impact and social value, conveying environmental, sustainable development, and human emotional and spiritual aspects in their work. Finally, from a career development perspective, a great designer may only be successful in one field or for a certain period of time; ​great designers, on the other hand, tend to have a broader vision and a longer term plan, and can achieve outstanding achievements and have a profound impact in different fields. In conclusion, in my opinion, "excellent" emphasizes professional skills and execution, while "great" encompasses additional macro and global factors.

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?

JC : Good design is not only dependent on a single standard but is a comprehensive reflection of many factors. Excellent designers will flexibly use and balance these evaluation criteria according to specific project objectives, audience characteristics, market environment, and other factors to create design works that meet functional requirements and are rich in innovation, humanistic care, and aesthetic value.

DL: What is the value of good design? Why should everyone invest in good design?

JC : ​Excellent design is of great value to both individuals and society. First of all, excellent design can improve the quality of life. Whether it is home design, product design or urban planning, it can bring people a more pleasant, convenient and lovely living environment. Secondly, excellent design can improve work efficiency. In industrial production, excellent industrial design can make products easier to manufacture and use; ​in the office space, excellent spatial layout and equipment design can also improve the efficiency of employees. In addition, investing in excellent design can also bring financial returns. Carefully built excellent products or services will usually be favored by the market, and get additional consumer recognition and support. Therefore, in the commercial field, it is also extremely necessary and practical to pay attention to the excellent design of product packaging, advertising and other aspects. In conclusion, everyone should invest in excellent design, because it can not only improve our own quality of life and work efficiency, but also promote social and economic development. At the same time, in the process of pursuing excellent design, it is also necessary to respect the rights and interests of the original and abide by the law.

DL: What would you design and who would you design for if you had the time?

JC : If there is time, I will design packaging for agricultural products for the vast group of Chinese farmers to help them solve their selling difficulties, as my parents are also farmers. I understand their challenges and aim to resolve them; this is what I should do.

DL: What is the dream project you haven’t yet had time to realize?

JC : The first dream project I want to realize is to redesign the brand I used when I was a child and pay tribute to the lovely memories of my childhood. Secondly, I want to do some brand design of agricultural products for farmers in rural areas, hoping that they can better sell their products, obtain profits, and exchange for a better life.​

DL: What is your secret recipe of success in design, what is your secret ingredient?

JC : Read more, think more, do more.

DL: Who are some other design masters and legends you get inspired from?

JC : Pan Hu, Xu Liaoyuan, Zhang Aihua, Deng Xiongbo

DL: What are your favorite designs by other designers, why do you like them?

JC : My favorite designers are Yuan Yanzai, Pan Hu, Deng Xiongbo, Zhang Aihua, etc. At the same time, I also work hard for them.​

DL: What is your greatest design, which aspects of that design makes you think it is great?

JC : My best work is the Jinshanjianshui white spirit packaging. Firstly, its appearance design is relatively simple, following the principle of "the ultimate is simplicity". Secondly, it can evoke one's reflection on life cognition. Lastly, its design concept is unique. The main graphic is a perfect combination of the Chinese characters for "mountain" and "water", which is also a fusion of form and meaning, and a unified expression of the brand "Wei Dao" and the product name "Jinshanjianshui". You are me, and I am you. Wei Dao: seeing the mountain is not the mountain, seeing the water is not the water; with wisdom: seeing the mountain is still the mountain, seeing the water is still the water.

DL: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?

JC : As a designer, it is extremely essential to improve your professional level. First of all, I will continue to learn and accumulate knowledge and skills in related fields, including the latest design software and fashion trends. Secondly, I will participate in further design competitions or exhibitions, so as to exercise my creativity and practical ability. In addition, it is also extremely beneficial to communicate with different designers. You can learn a lot of lessons and techniques from them. In addition, maintain attention to detail in your work, and continuously reflect on your work to try to do better in every project. Finally, it is necessary to maintain patience and perseverance, not to give up easily in the face of difficulties, and constantly maintain the enthusiasm for the design career. These are the methods and experiences I have taken to improve myself as a better designer. Through continuous learning, practice and communication and cooperation with others, I believe my professional level will be further improved.

DL: If you hadn’t become a designer, what would you have done?

JC : If I hadn't become a designer, I might have chosen to work in marketing or creative planning. In this career, I can give full play to my imagination and creativity, promote products or services in various ways, and cooperate with people in different fields to gain more inspiration and experience. At the same time, there is also a lot of room for development in the field of marketing and creative planning, and you can continuously learn new knowledge, master different skills, and improve your professional level. Also, if I didn't become a designer, I might consider starting a tiny business or going freelance. In this way, you can arrange your time and work content more flexibly, and you can completely develop your talents and potential. Although there may be additional risks and challenges on this road, there will also be additional opportunities and gains. In short, in any industry, you need to work tough to achieve your goals, and to remain confident and look forward to the future. No matter which path we choose, we must go on resolutely at every stage and continue to accumulate experience and improve our ability.

DL: How do you define design, what is design for you?

JC : Design is a kind of creative activity, which involves the analysis of problems, the proposal of solutions and the realization process. In my understanding, design is not limited to the field of aesthetics or art. It is more about the method and process of how to meet specific needs and achieve specific goals. First of all, design requires a deep analysis and understanding of the problem. This means understanding the reasons behind the problem, the factors that affect it, and the needs and expectations of the stakeholders involved. Second, the design needs to come up with innovative and workable solutions. This may involve technical, material, process and other considerations, and requires a combination of factors to find the best solution. Finally, design also includes the process of turning ideas into reality, where effective communication and teamwork are crucial. To sum up, for me, design is a systematic and creative process in which analysis, thinking and practice are used to find the best solution to meet a specific need. Whether it is a product, service or experience, design thinking can be applied to improve and innovate.

DL: Who helped you to reach these heights, who was your biggest supporter?

JC : First, my family, who have always supported me with unconditional love and encouragement. Secondly, my teachers and mentors have given me valuable guidance and advice in my studies and work. In addition, there are numerous friends and colleagues who accompany me in life and progress together. In general, there is no one who is my biggest supporter, but numerous people together constitute my growth path. Everyone has given me strength and inspiration at different times and helped me when I was in trouble. Therefore, I am grateful to all the people around me who have helped me, and I am willing to pass on this gratitude.

DL: What helped you to become a great designer?

JC : As a designer, I think being a great designer requires constant learning and experience. First of all, the mastery of professional knowledge is extremely essential, only in-depth understanding of design theory and technology can make excellent works. Secondly, the source of inspiration is also crucial, and further observation and thinking can make you have more creative ideas. In addition, continuously summing up experience and lessons in practice, and the courage to try different ideas are also essential qualities to grow into a great designer. Finally, communication and cooperation with peers can also inspire themselves to better improve. Sorry, I'm not a great designer yet, but I hope to be one someday.

DL: What were the obstacles you faced before becoming a design master?

JC : Before that, the main obstacles I encountered were a lack of experience and skills. As a beginner, I frequently felt lost and helpless, not knowing how to genuinely grow into a great designer. At the same time, the fierce competition in the market also made me feel stressed and worried that I would not be able to stand out. However, in the face of these difficulties, I realized that only continuous learning and practice can break through my limitations. ​Thus I began to actively seek guidance from mentors and attend various training courses to improve my professional skills. Through unremitting efforts and perseverance, these obstacles were eventually overcome. To sum up, it takes patience and perseverance to face challenges, and to meet them bravely. Only by continually overcoming difficulties and having firm faith can we succeed in the end.

DL: How do you think designers should present their work?

JC : As a designer, showing your work is extremely valuable. First, designers should choose the right platform to display their work, such as personal websites, social media or professional design exhibitions. Secondly, the work display needs to have clear and attractive pictures and text descriptions, so that the audience can quickly understand the design concept and creative inspiration. In addition, designers should also pay attention to interaction with the audience. In the exhibition they can share their design ideas, technical methods and industry insights, so as to increase the attractiveness and influence of the work. Finally, in the process of exhibition, we should keep a humble and open mind, accept feedback and suggestions from different audiences, and continuously improve our design level and expression ability.

DL: What’s your next design project, what should we expect from you in future?

JC : My next project is to design a tea packaging, which is still in design and will be shared with you soon.

DL: What’s your ultimate goal as a designer?

JC : As a designer, my ultimate goal is to continuously improve my design level and creativity and become a leader in the industry. I hope to influence more people through my design works, so that they can feel the power of combining beauty and practicality. At the same time, I also hope to achieve certain achievements in the field of design and make positive contributions to society. In my opinion, an excellent designer should have keen observation, innovative thinking and teamwork spirit, and continuously improve himself in continuous learning and practice, and finally realize the unity of personal value and social value.

DL: What people expect from an esteemed designer such as yourself?

JC : First of all, they wanted me to have a wealth of design experience and expertise, and to be able to provide them with top-quality design solutions. Secondly, they expect me to be creative and imaginative, to be able to give them fresh and distinct design ideas. In addition, I am expected to be a great communicator and a team player who can effectively communicate ideas and coordinate interests when working with clients and teams. In short, I am expected to excel not only in professional skills, but also in communication and coordination.

DL: How does design help create a better society?

JC : First, designers can aim to create more humane and sustainable urban planning and architectural design. By taking into account the needs and lifestyles of residents, we can create more pleasant, accessible and environmentally friendly urban spaces that enhance people's quality of life. Secondly, designers can also play a role in product design. We can promote the use of renewable materials and energy-saving technologies, and focus on the functionality and beauty of products. This not only helps to reduce resource waste and environmental pollution, but also allows people to enjoy a higher quality of life experience. In addition, in the field of media and visual arts, designers play an essential role. We can convey positive and energetic information to the public through film and television works, print advertisements and other forms, guide people to establish correct values and stimulate positive social energy. All in all, as a designer, I feel a great responsibility in my daily work. A better, more livable, more inclusive and sustainable society can only be achieved by continually pursuing innovation and progress and integrating social responsibility into everything we do.

DL: What are you currently working on that you are especially excited about?

JC : At the moment, I am excited to work on a different project. This project is all about market research and product development, and I'm very excited about the challenges and opportunities. In this project, I need to work with a team to collect data, analyze market trends, and come up with innovative solutions. It makes me feel motivated and enthusiastic. On top of that, I'm learning a different skill or participating in a fun activity. By continually learning and trying different things, my life becomes more colorful. Whether it is the challenge of work or the exploration of personal growth, it makes me feel extremely excited.

DL: Which design projects gave you the most satisfaction, why?

JC : In the packaging design project I have participated in, there is a case that makes me extremely satisfied. This project is for a top-end tea packaging design. I think it impresses people mainly for the following reasons. First of all, the tea packaging design uses exquisite visual elements and high-quality materials, making the overall appearance extremely attractive. Secondly, the traditional cultural elements are integrated into the packaging, and the innovative interpretation is combined with modern design techniques, which not only highlights the charm of traditional Chinese culture, but also shows the sense of fashion and quality. In addition, detailed product information and production process are also indicated on the packaging, providing consumers with a comprehensive and professional reference. In general, this tea packaging design not only gives people a pleasant feeling visually, but more importantly, it has won my favor through its exquisite production process and unique cultural connotation. I hope I can participate in more similar projects with high level, excellent taste, cultural heritage and creative challenges in the future.

DL: What would you like to see changed in design industry in the coming years?

JC : The design industry is a continuously developing and changing field. With the progress of science and technology and changes in social needs, the design industry is also continuously adjusting and innovating. In the coming years, I hope to see some positive changes in the design industry. First, I hope that the design industry will pay extra attention to sustainability and environmental protection. As global environmental problems become more serious, designers should focus on developing more environmentally friendly, energy efficient and recyclable products and solutions to contribute to the health of the planet. Second, I would like to see the design industry more closely integrated with technology. With the continuous emergence of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality, designers can use these technologies to create more forward-looking and innovative works, and achieve breakthroughs in product features and user experience. In addition, I also look forward to seeing the design education model reformed and improved. Fostering excellent design talent with an international perspective, interdisciplinary thinking and innovative spirit is crucial to driving the industry forward. DL: Where do you think the design field is headed next?

JC : In the current development of the design field, I think the next critical direction is sustainability and environmental protection. With increasing environmental concerns, designers need to think more about the life-cycle impact of products and buildings, and seek more environmentally friendly and sustainable materials and technologies. In addition, digital design will also become an essential direction of future development, including virtual reality, augmented reality and other modern technologies, will bring different possibilities to design. At the same time, in the context of the continuous progress of smart technology, smart home, smart city and other fields will also become a hot spot of design innovation. In short, the design field of the future will be more environmentally sustainable and closely integrated with technology to meet the growing needs of people.

DL: How long does it take you to finalize a design project?

JC : The first thing to consider is the complexity and size of the product. Typically, the design of a small product can take several months to a year to complete. For large, complex products, development and testing can take longer. In addition, factors such as the number of team members, technical level, and project management ability need to be considered. In short, when designing a product, it is necessary to carefully evaluate the various factors and rationally schedule the time to ensure the quality and efficiency of the final product.

DL: When you have a new design project, where do you start?

JC : When I have a recent design project, I normally start by gathering information. This includes communicating needs and objectives with customers, researching market trends and analyzing competitors. Next comes the brainstorming phase, where I try out different ideas and concepts and write them down. Then I do preliminary sketches and prototypes to better showcase my design ideas. It is also essential to work closely with team members throughout the process, who can provide valuable feedback and help refine the design. Finally, before determining the final plan, I will make several modifications and improvements to ensure that the customer's expectations are met and the project requirements are met.

DL: What is your life motto as a designer?

JC : As a designer, my life motto is "creativity unlimited, the pursuit of excellence". On the road of design, I understand that only by continually challenging myself, learning and exploring can I continuously break through my limitations and achieve a higher level of design works. At the same time, we must maintain a humble and tenacious attitude in our work, and have the courage to face difficulties and challenges. Only in this way can we become excellent designers and achieve greater achievements.

DL: Do you think design sets the trends or trends set the designs?

JC : There is a mutual influence relationship between design and trend. On the one hand, design determines the trend because design, as an innovation and leading force, can lead the development direction of the market and society by continuously innovating and breaking through the tradition. For example, the design of scientific and technological products can modify people's lifestyle and consumption habits, thus affecting the development direction of the entire industrial chain. On the other hand, the trend also determines the design, in a specific period or a specific environment, some social, economic, cultural and other factors will form the trend and trend. These trends will directly affect the design style, concept and product demand. In general, there is no absolute "design determines the trend" or "trend determines the design", and the relationship between the two is mutual interaction and mutual influence. In the actual work, we need to flexibly use the relationship between the two according to the specific situation, and carry out innovative thinking and practice on the basis of grasping the market demand and user psychology.

DL: What is the role of technology when you design?

JC : Technology plays a crucial role in design. First, technology provides additional possibilities and innovation space for design. Through the application of technology, designers can achieve more complex and refined works to meet the growing needs of users. Secondly, technology also provides better efficiency and reliability for design. For example, in product design, the use of advanced manufacturing processes and materials can considerably improve product quality and production efficiency. In addition, technology can alter the way people think about design and drive the industry forward. With the continuous progress of science and technology, emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and virtual reality have begun to penetrate into various fields, and have made subversive changes to traditional design methods. In short, in today's society, technology has become an integral part and plays a crucial role in design. Only by keeping up with the trend of The Times and being good at using various emerging scientific and technological means can we create more excellent and competitive works.

DL: What kind of design software and equipment do you use in your work?

JC : In my work, I normally use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Coreldraw, C4D and other software to design on desktop computers.

DL: What is the role of the color, materials and ambient in design?

JC : In design, color, materials and environment all play a crucial role. First of all, color can affect people's emotions and psychological states, and different colors will bring different feelings to people. Therefore, it is extremely crucial to choose the right color in the design. Secondly, materials also have a profound impact on the design. Different materials have different textures and characteristics, which can add colorful elements to the design. Finally, the environment is also an essential consideration, especially in interior design. Rational use of environmental resources can enhance the overall space atmosphere and integrate with nature. In short, giving full play to the role of color, materials and environment in the design process will make the work more outstanding and attractive.

DL: What do you wish people to ask about your design?

JC : First, I want people to ask specific questions about my design, such as why did I choose this style, color or material? Or it's about the source of inspiration behind the design and the creative process. In addition, I am also extremely willing to hear people's constructive comments and criticisms on my design, because it can help me continuously improve and perfect my design concept and technical level. All in all, I look forward to engaging in deeper and more relevant exchanges with all of you and am open to feedback in all its forms.

DL: When you see a new great design or product what comes into your mind?

JC : What comes to mind when you see a fresh great design or product? For me, I think of innovation and technology first. A great design or product frequently represents the effort and wisdom of the team, who, through continuous exploration and practice, finally present such a stunning work. Secondly, I will think about its impact on life, work and even the whole society. A great design or product can usually improve people's quality of life, increase efficiency, and promote social progress. Therefore, when I see a great modern design or product, I constantly marvel at the endless human intelligence and creativity.

DL: Who is your ideal design partner? Do you believe in co-design?

JC : In today's fast-paced society, the design industry is also changing rapidly. As a designer, finding the ideal design partner is crucial to the job. First of all, I think the ideal design partner should have excellent communication skills and team spirit. He/she needs to be able to express his/her ideas precisely and be willing to listen to the suggestions and opinions of others. Secondly, creativity and professional knowledge are also qualities I value. A great design partner should have a unique and creative way of thinking, and have solid professional skills. As for whether I believe in co-design, my answer is yes. Collaborative design allows like-minded people from different fields, backgrounds and experience levels to participate in projects and share their views and resources, forming a more complete, diversified and comprehensive solution in the process. In short, ideally, my partner should be a person with excellent communication skills, teamwork spirit, creativity and professional knowledge; at the same time, I firmly believe that collaborative design can bring us further inspiration and opportunities.

DL: Which people you interacted had the most influence on your design?

JC : Who are the most influential people in your design? Throughout my design career, there have been numerous people who have had a significant impact on my design. First of all, my teachers and mentors taught me professional knowledge and skills, and gave me a lot of valuable advice and guidance. Secondly, there are some excellent designers and artists whose works inspire me and make me continuously pursue a higher level of design. In addition, communication with customers, colleagues and partners has also had a profound impact on my design, and I have learned a lot of practical experience and teamwork spirit. In addition, various cultures, styles and histories that I have come into contact with in daily life have also influenced my design ideas imperceptibly. All in all, in this era of information explosion, various elements from the professional field or daily life may become our inspiration. Every person or thing can influence us, but ultimately how to integrate these factors into their own unique creativity is up to the individual's ability and effort.

DL: Which books you read had the most effect on your design?

JC : In my design career, there is one book that has had a profound impact on me. The book is The Psychology of Design. Through reading this book, I have a deep understanding of people's psychological and behavioral characteristics when facing different designs. Through a wealth of cases and experimental data, the author reveals the hidden laws behind human cognition, emotion and behavior, which makes me think more deeply about how to apply these laws to my design work. This book not only helped me improve my UX design skills, but also inspired me to think about the balance between product functionality and aesthetics. It made me understand that in any design work, it is necessary to stand on the user's point of view, and pay attention to details and the integration of the whole. As a result, The Psychology of Design has become one of the indispensable guides to my career.

DL: How did you develop your skills as a master designer?

JC : First of all, I will continually learn and master modern design software and tools to keep pace with the development of the industry. Secondly, I will pay attention to the fashion trend and market demand, and continuously improve my aesthetic vision and creative ability. At the same time, participating in various design competitions, exhibitions and lectures is also one of the ways to improve my skills. In addition, in daily work, it is also essential to exchange experience with peers. By collaborating with other designers or participating in related industry events, you can broaden your horizons, learn from others' strengths, and get feedback to improve your own design. In addition, it is also extremely essential to gain experience in real projects. Summarize the experience and lessons in practice, and adjust their direction and methods in time. All in all, developing the skills you need as a designer takes a lot of consideration and requires continuous efforts to improve.

DL: Irrelative of time and space, who you would want to meet, talk and discuss with?

JC : Who do you want to meet, talk, and discuss, regardless of time or space? Regardless of time and space, if I could meet, talk, and discuss with anyone, I would choose to have a dialogue with a scholar or thinker of superior wisdom and profound insight. Such people frequently give me fresh ideas and thoughts that help me understand the world and myself better. In this exchange, I will ask him questions about life, society, science and other aspects. By talking with him, I hope to broaden my horizons, learn more about unknown areas, and gain valuable experience and wisdom from him. There is no limit to my desire in anyplace, past or present. Therefore, in this virtual scene, I can talk freely and draw inspiration from the other person's abundant knowledge base.

DL: How do you feel about all the awards and recognition you had, is it hard to be famous?

JC : How do you feel about all the awards and recognition you've received? Is it difficult to be famous? The awards and recognition they have received are an affirmation of their efforts and efforts. These honors represent not only individual ability and achievement, but also recognition and support for the team, organization and family. Every time I win an award, I feel extremely pleased and proud. In the process of pursuing awards and recognition, I profoundly understand the truth that "fame is difficult". Achieving outstanding results is not easy and requires a lot of time, energy and sweat. At the same time, standing out in a competitive environment is also difficult. But it is this kind of pressure and challenge that inspires my fighting spirit and motivation, so that I continue to surpass myself and pursue excellence. However, "fame" is not the only goal. "Fame and wealth" is essential, but more vital is true inner satisfaction and happiness. Behind the pursuit of honor, we should pay extra attention to the improvement of personal cultivation, moral cultivation and social responsibility. In a word, I will cherish awards and recognition and regard them as a source of continuous progress and improvement on the road ahead. At the same time, I hope that through my own experience, I can inspire others to go forward, dare to pursue their dreams, and forever remain humble and persevering.

DL: What is your favorite color, place, food, season, thing and brand?

JC : My favorite color is blue, because it gives people a fresh, peaceful feeling. My favorite place is the beach, because I can relax there and enjoy the beauty of nature. As for food, I love Hunan food best among Chinese food, because it is extremely spicy, expensive in taste and sweet in flavor. My favorite season is spring, because everything is fresh and full of life then. As for things, I prefer reading best, because reading can broaden my vision and enrich my knowledge. DL: Please tell us a little memoir, a funny thing you had experienced as a designer?

JC : Remember in my childhood, my uncle took me to herd cattle, leisure, my uncle with clay knead a buffalo sculpture, the buffalo sculpture is extremely lovely, I like it very much, but my uncle hid the buffalo sculpture, do not let me play, he worried that I broke it, finally one day, my uncle is not at home, I secretly ran to his bed, take out the buffalo clay sculpture, Because I like it so much, I hold it in my arms when I sleep, but it was accidentally crushed by me. Later, my uncle knew about this matter, and he did not blame me, but taught me that it is not acceptable behavior to take other people's items without the consent of others. We can't do that anymore. Although it has been more than 30 years, every time I recall this incident, I have mixed feelings. It was my uncle's behavior that enlightened my youthful heart, aroused my pursuit of beauty and art, and thus made me more determined on the road I am taking today. Whenever I am confused and encounter setbacks, I will recall this story, which has taught me not to forget my original heart. All the way.

DL: What makes your day great as a designer, how do you motivate yourself?

JC : First, I like to take the time to think and plan my project before I start work in the morning. This quiet time allows me to brainstorm distinctly and find inspiration. Then, when I saw the results of my design gradually emerged, the sense of accomplishment was indescribable. Whether it is the perfect presentation of a minor detail or the successful implementation of the overall design scheme, it will give me great satisfaction. Working with a client or team is also one of the things that makes my day great. Develop better ideas and solutions through constant adjustment and improvement through communication and collaboration with others. Finally, looking back at my progress and achievements at the end of a busy and challenging day is also a great motivator. When it comes to how I motivate myself, I normally set clear goals and make actionable plans to reach those goals. In addition, I will continue to learn current knowledge, pay attention to industry trends and participate in related activities to maintain my passion for the design field and improve my professional level. DL: When you were a little child, was it obvious that you would become a great designer?

JC : When I was a kid, I was passionate and curious about design. Whenever I see a lovely card, toy, container, or sign, I can't help but stop and look at it, and try to imitate it. But since then, my parents have recognized my talent and started to support my design dreams. As I grew older, my interests became more focused and deeper. Whether it is in the school to decorate the classroom or in my own room, it has become my pleasure. Gradually, there is a difference among peers - they will ask, "How do you know this looks better?" "Or" How can you match the colors so correctly?" Until today, when I look back on my experience as a successful designer, I find that the seeds of my future as a designer have been planted in my childhood.

DL: What do you think about future; what do you see will happen in thousand years from now?

JC : What do you think about the future? What do you see happening a thousand years from now? The future is an era full of unknown and variable. With the continuous development of science and technology and the progress of human civilization, we have a variety of imaginations for the future. What's going to happen a thousand years from now? This question is undoubtedly a challenging and mysterious proposition. First, from the perspective of science and technology, a thousand years from now, there may be numerous different technological products and applications that we can not imagine. ​Possibly humans have achieved space travel, time travel, or other things beyond imagination. At the same time, great breakthroughs will also be made in the fields of medicine, environmental protection and energy utilization. Second, the structure of society is likely to alter dramatically. With the acceleration of globalization, the pattern of international relations may become more complex and volatile. And because of the unequal distribution of resources, social stratification is more serious. Finally, in terms of cultural inheritance, although a thousand years is sufficient for numerous things to alter drastically, it is believed that people still have resonance with wonderful things and values, and these things will be passed on. JC : Tell us what you want your fans to learn about you, your designs and what else? In this post, I want to share with my fans some thoughts on my design philosophy and other aspects. First of all, I want my fans to understand my love and dedication to design. Whether it is graphic or product design, I hope to convey the idea of beauty and utility through my work. Second, I want my fans to understand where my inspiration comes from. Occasionally inspiration comes from the tiny details of life, other times it comes from nature or works of art. These inspirations will be integrated into my design and become the distinct features of my work. In addition to this, I also want my fans to understand that while pursuing personalization and innovation, I also pay great attention to product quality and user experience.
