Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer PEARLSTIGE ("PEARLSTIGE") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?

PEARLSTIGE : Despite not having a professional design background, I am still passionate about jewelry design and hope to convey positive energy through my designs - the infinite possibilities of life.

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?

PEARLSTIGE : Curiosity drives me to become a designer because I find it interesting.

DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?

PEARLSTIGE : Let nature take its course.

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?

PEARLSTIGE : Jewelry Design.

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?

PEARLSTIGE : It is a good design to not cause pollution to the environment and solve customer needs.

DL: What would you design and who would you design for if you had the time?

PEARLSTIGE : Design jewelry for oneself.

DL: Who are some other design masters and legends you get inspired from?

PEARLSTIGE : Jewelry designer JAR's works have always been my favourite designer, with diverse styles and a broad understanding of the past and present.

DL: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?

PEARLSTIGE : Maintain a heart of continuous learning.

DL: Who helped you to reach these heights, who was your biggest supporter?

PEARLSTIGE : The support of family is the most important.

DL: How do you think designers should present their work?

PEARLSTIGE : It can be showcased through new media.

DL: What’s your ultimate goal as a designer?

PEARLSTIGE : Enable oneself and the people around me to have a better life.

DL: What would you like to see changed in design industry in the coming years?

PEARLSTIGE : Due to the intervention of artificial intelligence, the entire industry will iterate faster and eliminate the shortcomings.

DL: How long does it take you to finalize a design project?

PEARLSTIGE : It will take at least one month or even six months.

DL: What is your life motto as a designer?

PEARLSTIGE : Don't look back.

DL: Do you think design sets the trends or trends set the designs?

PEARLSTIGE : These two complement each other, as design is partly dependent on the development of human society.

DL: What is the role of technology when you design?

PEARLSTIGE : Assisted design with everything from sketches to physical objects or templates.

DL: What kind of design software and equipment do you use in your work?

PEARLSTIGE : Adobe series design software is most commonly used.

DL: What is the role of the color, materials and ambient in design?

PEARLSTIGE : Adobe series design software is most commonly used. For jewelry design, understanding the materials is essential to better complete the design and teaching according to individual needs.

DL: When you see a new great design or product what comes into your mind?

PEARLSTIGE : I will think about who the design object is and whether it perfectly meets the design requirements.

DL: How did you develop your skills as a master designer?

PEARLSTIGE : Regularly collect current industry consultations and select suitable ones for further education.

DL: What makes your day great as a designer, how do you motivate yourself?

PEARLSTIGE : Completing work within the plan, encountering exciting events outside the plan. Looking for interesting things that can light up your day from your daily life.
