LEGENDARY INTERVIEW

Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Pytailo Viacheslav ("PV") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?

PV : Historically, all my business activity is related to real estate in some or other way. As a matter of fact, I became a designer without any theoretical skills, because this area is directly related to both construction and repairs. This has turned into a hobby and passion from practice for 15 years of perforce.

DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?

PV : It was my decision.

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?

PV : We design houses, apartments and provide a turnkey service package.

DL: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?

PV : The design of young designers is creative, new ideas and a lot of enthusiasm. The design of legends is a reliable solution, bold ideas and brand.

DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?

PV : Courage, full commitment, do not be afraid to make a mistake.

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?

PV : Here is my peacock of good design: It is creativity, creation of a masterpiece, a real challenge, passion, hours of days and nights of reflection, during which I imagine how it will be better, more beautiful, constantly improving the project. My goal is for the owner's apartment to be a pure reflection of his character.

DL: What is your secret recipe of success in design, what is your secret ingredient?

PV : A design can only be successful if the customer enjoys it. It is of fundamental importance to remember the opinion about the result is often subjective. If the customer clearly knows what he wants, the design does not have to be the best for everyone, as this is the customer’s preference. The project success is when a great deal of various elements and details create a single image, when a room is cozy, and the design is light, when it is still in trend after a few years and its owner is still pleased with design.

DL: What are your favorite designs by other designers, why do you like them?

PV : I like the process of creating an idea the most, and only then - materialization. That's fantastic, when we or customers ring in the new non-standard solutions, for example, furniture creating manually or right at the object.

DL: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?

PV : I worked hard, did not stop there and was not afraid.

DL: If you hadn’t become a designer, what would you have done?

PV : I would be engaged in real estate

DL: How do you define design, what is design for you?

PV : This is creativity, the creation of a masterpiece, a real challenge, passion, hours of days and nights of thoughts, during which I imagine how it will be better, more beautiful, constantly improving the project. My objective is the owner’s apartment to be a pure reflection of his character.

DL: How do you think designers should present their work?

PV : I think this is a creative process and every designer knows better how to show its project

DL: What people expect from an esteemed designer such as yourself?

PV : Creativity, quality, deadlines

DL: How long does it take you to finalize a design project?

PV : We give a guarantee for turnkey repair terms in SKS– 100 square meters in 3 months. The Customer moves to his apartment after 3 months. Guaranteed for sure.

DL: When you have a new design project, where do you start?

PV : We meet with the customer and form a request, identify the needs and requirements of the client.

DL: Do you think design sets the trends or trends set the designs?

PV : Оur life is changing rapidly and undoubtedly sets trends in design

DL: What makes your day great as a designer, how do you motivate yourself?

PV : A good day as a designer for me is when I see satisfied customers. This is what motivates me.
