Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Kevin Sun (SunGuang) ("KS(") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?

KS( : I am not a professional artist, but I have been drawing and designing since I was very young. I participated in many drawing competitions when I was a student. My major is computer science and technology. I like to express my ideas using computer graphics and codes. I used to focus on the merge of digital art, technology, and business applications.

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?

KS( : I am the co-founder and technical director of Gooest, my work is to provide multimedia solutions for the clients. Actually, creativity made me become a designer.

DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?

KS( : I did choose to become a designer, and I like it.

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?

KS( : I design interactive and digital artworks, I wish to design more artworks combined with new technology, art, cultures.

DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?

KS( : A good designer is to create a design, but a great designer is to create a better society and promote human history.

DL: What would you design and who would you design for if you had the time?

KS( : Most time I design for my clients. I will design what is in my deep heart (just for myself) if I have free time.

DL: What is your greatest design, which aspects of that design makes you think it is great?

KS( : I always think that I am a new designer, and maybe the next design is the greatest.

DL: How do you define design, what is design for you?

KS( : Design is creativity, innovation, and imagination.

DL: What is your life motto as a designer?

KS( : Be passionate about everything you do, the best will follow.

DL: Do you think design sets the trends or trends set the designs?

KS( : I think the design sets the trends.

DL: What is the role of technology when you design?

KS( : The technology is the core role when I design.

DL: What kind of design software and equipment do you use in your work?

KS( : UNITY3D，Processing，GPU，SHADER，TD ，HLSL，C4D，3DMax，Maya，AE， PS，C ++，C＃

DL: When you see a new great design or product what comes into your mind?

KS( : I will think about if there is any element could be used for my client or designs to reach a special effect.
