Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Matteo Cremasco ("MC") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.
DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?
MC : I graduated from public school: I.P.S.I.A. Andrea Scotton located in Bassano del Grappa, first of all I'm proud to be curious, adaptable, extroverted and empathetic, this way of being allowed me to enjoy books and collect a lot of experiences, contaminations and skills from all the people/culture with which I come in contact.
DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?
MC : I love art, minimalism, functionality, ergonomics, design itself, sustainability, multicultural interactions and the way that design change the designer perspective about objects.
DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?
MC : I'm becoming a designer, the real designer is always improving himself.
DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?
MC : Furniture design is my passion but also things that humans use everyday.
DL: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?
MC : I don't feel like a design legend,however I suppose that all the designers must design thinking about the others human being
DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?
MC : sustainability, ethic, simplifications, improvement, beauty, and a good explanation of the idea under the project.
DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?
MC : ergonomics, sustainability, functionality and beauty
DL: What is the value of good design? Why should everyone invest in good design?
MC : the real value of a good design is to improve the quality of life.
DL: What would you design and who would you design for if you had the time?
MC : some kind of satellite for NASA
DL: What is the dream project you haven’t yet had time to realize?
MC : some kind of satellite for NASA
DL: What is your secret recipe of success in design, what is your secret ingredient?
MC : Books imagination and hard work

HE JUST LIKE TO DRAW, TO IMAGINE NEW FRONTIER TO REACH, AND ASKING HIMSELF WHAT HE CAN DO FOR IMPROVE HIS LIFE AN THE LIFE OF THE OTHERS, BY MAKING GOOD SUSTAINABLE DESIGN. THIS YOUNG MAN HOPE TO PURSUIT HIS ACTIVITY AND TO CULTIVATE HIS PASSION FOR DESIGN, MATTEO ALSO WANT TO IMPROVE HIS SKILLS IN VARIOUS SECTOR, HE IS A BIG FAN OF ESA, NASA AND OTHERS SPACE AGENCY ORGANIZATION AND LOVE EVERITHING INVOLVE SPACE.
