Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Wei-Chi Chien ("WC") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?

WC : The direction of the guide, the design should demonstrate not be just piling up, but the user's needs through the aesthetic way.

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?

WC : From the living needs of the occupants, the required function, preferences of personality, as well as the construction environment began to go into every detail of the design. It is a good design to facilitate the design of homeowners' life.

DL: What are your favorite designs by other designers, why do you like them?

WC : Design should be more diversified, starting from the clothing line. It the design of the future, its permission to integrate more about aesthetics and life is closely related to the clues and elements, so that life more colorful.

DL: How do you define design, what is design for you?

WC : The most beautiful place of design is that can let the owner more real recognition of life.

DL: What’s your ultimate goal as a designer?

DL: How does design help create a better society?

WC : The endless energy and to live a better idea of design.

DL: When you see a new great design or product what comes into your mind?

WC : Except style, I pay more attention to the function and practicality, it will be related to the owners and their families in the future convenience of life or not.
