Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Jot.Jot Joint Stock Company ("JJSC") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?

JJSC : Most of the designers, who create for Jotjot brand, are educated in the fields of Architecture and Design, also, they have a great amount of experience in these fields.

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?

JJSC : Jotjot strives to make a memorable contribution to the world's visual perspective, this is our mission, and that motivates all Jotjot team members to reach our set goals.

DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?

JJSC : It was not forced, for sure, and it was not chosen as well.

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?

JJSC : We design for people who love with their eyes, and we will continue that.

DL: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?

JJSC : First of all, we are not a legend. We just believe in hard work.

DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?

JJSC : Great designer's creations come from the problem.

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?

JJSC : A really good design comes from the problem.

DL: What is the value of good design? Why should everyone invest in good design?

JJSC : No one SHOULD.

DL: What would you design and who would you design for if you had the time?

JJSC : We always have time to design, it is our priority.

DL: What is the dream project you haven’t yet had time to realize?

JJSC : It is a secret :)

DL: What is your secret recipe of success in design, what is your secret ingredient?

JJSC : Salt and pepper :)

DL: Who are some other design masters and legends you get inspired from?

JJSC : We are inspired by many Scandinavian designers.

DL: What are your favorite designs by other designers, why do you like them?

JJSC : We believe in sustainable design, which is not a hit for a week or a month.

DL: What is your greatest design, which aspects of that design makes you think it is great?

JJSC : Simplicity is the main aspect of a good design.

DL: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?

JJSC : As I have mentioned before, hard work is the key to success.

DL: If you hadn’t become a designer, what would you have done?

JJSC : Probably I would have become a professional dreamer.

DL: How do you define design, what is design for you?

JJSC : Design is a lifestyle for me.

DL: Who helped you to reach these heights, who was your biggest supporter?

JJSC : We are still reaching those heights.

DL: What helped you to become a great designer?

JJSC : My persistence.

DL: What were the obstacles you faced before becoming a design master?

JJSC : Technical obstacles were the hardest ones while implementing my ideas.

DL: How do you think designers should present their work?

JJSC : With a smile :)

DL: What’s your next design project, what should we expect from you in future?

JJSC : Let it be a surprise.

DL: What’s your ultimate goal as a designer?

JJSC : Our ultimate goal is our customers' satisfaction and success.

DL: What people expect from an esteemed designer such as yourself?

JJSC : Creativity and unique pieces.

DL: How does design help create a better society?

JJSC : In every possible way.

DL: What are you currently working on that you are especially excited about?

JJSC : Again, that is a secret :)

DL: Which design projects gave you the most satisfaction, why?

JJSC : All our projects gave us a great satisfaction.

DL: What would you like to see changed in design industry in the coming years?

JJSC : More unique designs should be presented.

DL: Where do you think the design field is headed next?

JJSC : Always upward.

DL: How long does it take you to finalize a design project?

JJSC : It depends on the project.

DL: When you have a new design project, where do you start?

JJSC : It starts from the beginning, and the beginning starts from the problem.

DL: What is your life motto as a designer?

JJSC : Don't forget to dream everyday.

DL: Do you think design sets the trends or trends set the designs?

JJSC : Could be both, depends on the designer.

DL: What is the role of technology when you design?

JJSC : We always have them in mind.

DL: What kind of design software and equipment do you use in your work?

JJSC : Each of our designers use different software.

DL: What is the role of the color, materials and ambient in design?

JJSC : They are of equal importance, as well as other features.

DL: What do you wish people to ask about your design?

JJSC : Something interesting :)

DL: When you see a new great design or product what comes into your mind?

JJSC : that it is great :)

DL: Who is your ideal design partner? Do you believe in co-design?

JJSC : We believe in co-design.

DL: Which people you interacted had the most influence on your design?

JJSC : The Jotjot team members influence each other by sharing a good mood everyday.

DL: Which books you read had the most effect on your design?

JJSC : Books with many pictures :)

DL: How did you develop your skills as a master designer?

JJSC : Dreaming, traveling, discovering new cultures and meeting new people.

DL: Irrelative of time and space, who you would want to meet, talk and discuss with?

JJSC : Each member of our Jotjot team would like to meet their very own inspirational person. So quite a number of great personalities should be distinguished.

DL: How do you feel about all the awards and recognition you had, is it hard to be famous?

JJSC : Somehow, we get used to it :)

DL: What is your favorite color, place, food, season, thing and brand?

JJSC : All Jotjot team bet for colorful pizza :)

DL: Please tell us a little memoir, a funny thing you had experienced as a designer?

JJSC : Design is a serious matter :)

DL: What makes your day great as a designer, how do you motivate yourself?

JJSC : Sunny morning always makes my day great :)

DL: When you were a little child, was it obvious that you would become a great designer?

JJSC : It was obvious that would become somebody, in this case a designer.

DL: What do you think about future; what do you see will happen in thousand years from now?

JJSC : Future gives us opportunities, so anything could happen in thousand years from now.

DL: Please tell us anything you wish your fans to know about you, your design and anything else?

JJSC : My mum is the greatest fan of mine, so she already knows everything :)
