Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Samira Adami Dadizadeh ("SAD") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.
SAD : From a young age, I was drawn to both visual storytelling and form. My academic background in industrial design provided me with a solid foundation in structure, function, and material understanding. Over time, this foundation merged with my artistic sensibilities, guiding me toward the intricate world of jewelry design. The moment I realized that a single piece of jewelry could embody history, emotion, and innovation simultaneously, I knew this was the path I was meant to follow.
SAD : Design is a language through which I explore human connection, culture, and symbolism. The desire to create meaningful, lasting objects that tell stories and evoke emotion has always driven me. I became a designer to contribute to the beauty and poetry of the world in a tangible, enduring way.
SAD : It was an intentional and deeply personal choice. Since childhood, I was fascinated by forms, materials, and art history. My journey into design evolved naturally from this curiosity and grew into a professional calling
SAD : I design limited-edition jewelry and wearable art that fuse aesthetics with deeper meaning. My current focus is on transformable jewelry and narrative collections. In the future, I’d like to expand into sculptural objects and installations that integrate jewelry with architectural and spatial design.
SAD : Stay curious, develop a strong conceptual foundation, and never stop learning. Be patient with the process and brave enough to find your own voice. Authenticity, dedication to craft, and respect for history are essential for building a lasting legacy.
SAD : A good designer creates beautiful solutions. A great designer goes further—they express emotion, challenge conventions, and leave a cultural impact. Great design reflects not only technical excellence but also emotional intelligence and vision.
SAD : A truly good design balances purpose, aesthetics, innovation, and emotional resonance. I evaluate design based on its clarity, timelessness, and ability to connect with the user on a deeper level. A good design should be both intelligent and poetic
SAD : Good design improves life—it elevates everyday experiences, creates beauty, and preserves cultural memory. Investing in good design means investing in quality, longevity, and identity. It shapes how we live, think, and relate to the world.
