Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Cemer Playground Equipments ("CPE") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?

CPE : As a design firm, Cemer specializes in creating innovative playground and recreational solutions that blend functionality with aesthetic appeal. We aim to design more interactive and sustainable play structures that enhance children's developmental experiences while harmonizing with urban and natural environments. Our focus is on pushing the boundaries of traditional playground design by integrating modern technology and inclusive design principles to create safe, engaging, and memorable play spaces for communities worldwide.

DL: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?

CPE : To become a design legend, young designers should focus on mastering their craft, developing a unique style, seeking inspiration, embracing challenges, collaborating with others, and staying passionate and persistent in their work.

DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?

CPE : What distinguishes a good designer from a great one is often their ability to innovate consistently, solve complex problems creatively, and set trends rather than follow them. Great designers not only excel in technical skills and aesthetics but also possess a deep understanding of user needs, embrace collaboration effectively, and leave a significant impact on their field through their work. They push boundaries, inspire others, and consistently deliver exceptional and influential designs that stand the test of time.

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?

CPE : At Cemer, we evaluate what makes a good design truly exceptional by assessing its functionality, aesthetic appeal, user experience, innovation, sustainability, and emotional impact. These factors are key in determining the success and quality of our designs, alongside feedback from users, stakeholders, and experts.

DL: What is the value of good design? Why should everyone invest in good design?
