Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Mitra Mohebbi ("MM") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?

MM : It has been a year since I started industrial design and architecture And this year I won awards from Switzerland and Italy As well as finalists from Canada, the United States and Germany.

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?

MM : It is my interest to be a designer This job is very important Everything around us, from a glass to a nail clipper, from furniture to chandeliers, from toys to electronics; cars; houses; even urban furniture ...... They are all the result of creativity and design.

DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?

MM : love to design and I live by design

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?

MM : Multidisciplinary design

DL: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?

MM : Look at everything carefully

DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?

MM : great designer is someone who is known in the world for his works People like his designs A great designer is someone who has the best and purest ideas And strives for the welfare of the people

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?

MM : A good design that, in addition to being unique, gives the user a sense of well-being and the user can interact with it.

DL: What is the value of good design? Why should everyone invest in good design?

MM : Good design improves the quality of human life and gives human well-being and comfort A good design has a very important effect on the soul and body of people

DL: What would you design and who would you design for if you had the time?

MM : I like design in any field, but I am currently working on a villa project in the field of architecture as well as a backpack in the field of industrial design with the group.

DL: What is the dream project you haven’t yet had time to realize?

MM : Designing a device for the future, which is actually a kind of invention

DL: What is your secret recipe of success in design, what is your secret ingredient?

MM : I try to consider people's problems, even small ones, and have a good design to solve those problems

DL: What are your favorite designs by other designers, why do you like them?

MM : Zaha Hadid's works because of strong lines And the minimal designs of my teacher Mr. Bavardi

DL: What is your greatest design, which aspects of that design makes you think it is great?

MM : I like all my designs because I worked hard for them and spent a lot of time getting them to work.

DL: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?

MM : Take a closer look at the world and the world around them; take positive steps to solve people's problems; become aware of new technologies; update themselves and do research.

DL: How do you define design, what is design for you?

MM : Design is the flow of life

DL: Who helped you to reach these heights, who was your biggest supporter?

MM : My family; my sister And my master

DL: What helped you to become a great designer?

MM : Interest in art

DL: How do you think designers should present their work?

MM : Designers must love their job and analyze all aspects of their work when designing to make it the best it can be

DL: What’s your next design project, what should we expect from you in future?

MM : We are currently working on a backpack

DL: What’s your ultimate goal as a designer?

MM : My sister and I will have our own company and brand in the future and be number one internationally

DL: What people expect from an esteemed designer such as yourself?

MM : Creating a more beautiful world

DL: How does design help create a better society?

MM : The designer must solve people's problems And have a positive impact on the course of human life

DL: Which design projects gave you the most satisfaction, why?

MM : I'm completely satisfied with all the group projects I have had so far

DL: What would you like to see changed in design industry in the coming years?

MM : I have many ideas for future design

DL: Where do you think the design field is headed next?

MM : It is progressing and has a good future

DL: How long does it take you to finalize a design project?

MM : Depends on the scope of the project

DL: When you have a new design project, where do you start?

MM : From sketching

DL: What is your life motto as a designer?

MM : There are still so many great ideas in the world that no one has thought of Maybe I'm the first

DL: What is the role of technology when you design?

MM : The use of technology in design is very important and a designer must always be up to date Technology makes things faster and more accurate

DL: What kind of design software and equipment do you use in your work?

MM : First of all paper and pencil and then 3D software and professional rendering

DL: What is the role of the color, materials and ambient in design?

MM : Colors each have specific meanings And the material is also very important for construction

DL: Who is your ideal design partner? Do you believe in co-design?

MM : My sister

DL: How did you develop your skills as a master designer?

MM : Looking at the world around

DL: How do you feel about all the awards and recognition you had, is it hard to be famous?

MM : I feel very good and I thank God But I'm not proud Because this path continues

DL: What makes your day great as a designer, how do you motivate yourself?

MM : When a new idea comes to my mind

DL: When you were a little child, was it obvious that you would become a great designer?

MM : I have been interested in painting since I was a child and I used to paint and draw everywhere and I had a very good imagination.

MITRA HOLDER OF A LEVEL ONE LECTURER CERTIFICATE FROM TECHNICAL AND PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION IN FIELD DRAWING AND PAINTING WITH TEN YEARS OF TEACHING EXPERIENCE.
