LEGENDARY INTERVIEW

Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Alexandre Kasper ("AK") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?

AK : I started at CGS Móveis at the age of 16, always admiring the factory's designer sector, imagining me one day to be there, time went by and I always kept that focus, when I decided to go to architecture school, it opened the eyes of my boss, who it gave me the opportunity to start in the sector 4 years later i already sign 3 product lines.

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?

AK : what motivates me is to know that we have a lot to explore in the world, we cannot limit ourselves to what already exists, I say this as a form of creation, I am motivated by the need to have and convert experiences into objects.

DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?

AK : I chose to be a designer when I was 5 years old, I really liked the Pokemon design, and one day bored with the 150 that existed in the design, I drew another 150 new pokemons.

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?

DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?

AK : for me, good design is a successful person in the field of quality, knows how to make the product very well done, but does not explore its own emotional side, the designer has to work with emotion and with food and uniting these two factors is only for great minds of the designer.
