Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Siyang Xu ("SX") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?

SX : Now graduate student at the Savannah College of Art and Design

DL: What is your greatest design, which aspects of that design makes you think it is great?

DL: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?

SX : We should observe more of the abuses in life.

DL: If you hadn’t become a designer, what would you have done?

SX : I will spend long time to learn about design knowledge.

SX : I think I am because I like this thing. So I will work hard to learn design.

DL: What were the obstacles you faced before becoming a design master?

SX : There is still too much product design knowledge not learned

DL: How do you think designers should present their work?

SX : Participate in more world competitions

DL: What’s your next design project, what should we expect from you in future?

SX : Climate disaster industrial design

DL: What’s your ultimate goal as a designer?

SX : Start your own design company and design products for more people.

DL: What people expect from an esteemed designer such as yourself?

SX : Design more products that people use most often in life and be cheap

DL: How does design help create a better society?

SX : We want to reduce the damage to the natural environment

DL: What are you currently working on that you are especially excited about?

SX : Study knowledge at the School of Design to communicate with students from various countries

DL: Which design projects gave you the most satisfaction, why?

SX : High-speed rail design, its convenient design together with the distance between cities

DL: What would you like to see changed in design industry in the coming years?

SX : People should pay more attention to the generation of new viruses. We need to design some products that can protect people's health.

DL: Where do you think the design field is headed next?

SX : artificial intelligence

SX : About three months

SX : I think winning is a good encouragement to myself. Many times the designer is very lonely. We need the attention of the world to provide ourselves with great confidence.

DL: What is your favorite color, place, food, season, thing and brand?

SX : I like black. Like spring, you can go to nature to play.

DL: What makes your day great as a designer, how do you motivate yourself?

SX : Many people accept their own design works

DL: What do you think about future; what do you see will happen in thousand years from now?

SX : Artificial intelligence will be materialized together.
