Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Binglin Liu ("BL") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?

BL : Design is a very challenging industry. This industry is an industry that depends on the team to win. DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?

BL : I love design and hope to be an excellent designer.

DL: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?

BL : Designers must be confident and firmly believe in their personal beliefs, experience, vision and taste. No blind obedience, no solitude, no pride, no float. Face with a rigorous academic attitude, not for individuality and individuality, not for design.

DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?

BL : It has both commercial value and artistic value.

DL: What is your secret recipe of success in design, what is your secret ingredient?

BL : Find out what you are best at and learn to do what you are not good at.

DL: Who are some other design masters and legends you get inspired from?

BL : In the architectural work of architect Carlo Scarpa, he obtained the design inspiration of composition, deconstruction and material splicing. Inspired by the interior layout master Ji Yutang's plan distribution, he got the plan space layout details and composition layout plan inspiration.

DL: What are your favorite designs by other designers, why do you like them?

BL : Like domestic interior designer Ju Bin, in recent years, Zhu Bin has used and innovated Chinese culture in architectural spaces, and interpreted Chinese cultural elements with brand new visual communication. Walked out of his own design style road-oriental temperament aesthetics.

DL: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?

BL : As a designer, we must first develop the habit of collecting and collating professional data. The habit of collecting is especially important for beginners. When we have no creative inspiration, we may wish to read the data we usually collect. The requirements for beauty must be higher than your hands-on ability, so you will continue to find ways to improve your skills, learn more cultural and artistic knowledge, accept more aesthetic influences, and improve your own skills in continuous learning and practice. DL: How do you define design, what is design for you?

DL: What helped you to become a great designer?
