Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Hsien Wen Liu ("HWL") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?

HWL : Master of Architecture, Taiwan Architect, Tsinghua University, Beijing

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?

HWL : At school, on a chance to meet Le Corbusier.an architectural exhibition Start a new definition of space into design

DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?

HWL : Active choice to become a designer

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?

HWL : Design plans for buildings, residences, and hopes to design more and more different areas of the future include art works of art

DL: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?

HWL : Be brave in trying and taking advice from others To enhance one's ability through constant learningeffort

DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?

HWL : I think that good and good designers are about whether they will reflect on themselves, reflect on the design process, and make themselves better.

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?

HWL : Know how to observe your own shortcomings in design and adjust and rethink

DL: What is the value of good design? Why should everyone invest in good design?

HWL : Value comes from ideas. Investment ideas change design

DL: What would you design and who would you design for if you had the time?

HWL : A work designed to add beauty to each client's home.

DL: What is the dream project you haven’t yet had time to realize?

HWL : We'll set a goal for ourselves.

DL: How do you define design, what is design for you?

HWL : Design is to create a better life by adding ideas to the past

DL: What were the obstacles you faced before becoming a design master?

HWL : It's not good enough to be a better designer.

HWL : Current Design of Overseas Construction Projects, and Future Use of Integrating Building and Interior Practices, I hope I get the gold medal in the end

HWL : Go into the crowd and serve the masses

DL: What are you currently working on that you are especially excited about?

HWL : The overall plan for the construction of Nevis Island is also the first overseas design project to be completed.

DL: Which design projects gave you the most satisfaction, why?

HWL : Integration-type, entrusting us with everything from building to design.

HWL : Person who is a cross-disciplinary person or integrator

HWL : Returning to the most primitive and simple design, one forgets one's usual

HWL : Be willing to try and be brave to change

HWL : It can assist design thinking.

HWL : CAD/ SKETCH UP hand-drawn

DL: What is the role of the color, materials and ambient in design?

HWL : These three can pile up different feelings and feelings.

DL: What do you wish people to ask about your design?

HWL : Excavate life experiences and places that the client has not discovered

DL: When you see a new great design or product what comes into your mind?

HWL : It's hard.

DL: What is your favorite color, place, food, season, thing and brand?

HWL : I like the silence of black, the contemplation of church, the flavor of chocolate, the comfort of autumn, and the atmosphere of reading alone.

DL: Please tell us a little memoir, a funny thing you had experienced as a designer?

HWL : Design the Postnatal Care Center to experience the need of being a maternity nurse

DL: What makes your day great as a designer, how do you motivate yourself?

HWL : be brave enough to try every new thing

DL: What do you think about future; what do you see will happen in thousand years from now?

HWL : The future is without a designer. Everyone can create with their brains. Physical design can be made with your own head and a password
