DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?

SDT : Bachelor degree, engaged in design industry for more than 20 years.

DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?

SDT : Active choice.

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?

SDT : Yes, try many things.

SDT : Find your own position and realize your own value.

DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?

SDT : Whether we can deepen our positioning.

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?

SDT : Let design have strong emotional communication ability.

DL: What is the value of good design? Why should everyone invest in good design?

SDT : Good design can make people moved and feel the unique cultural value.

DL: What would you design and who would you design for if you had the time?

SDT : Designed for the promotion of Chinese culture.

DL: What is your secret recipe of success in design, what is your secret ingredient?

SDT : Find the source of things.

DL: Who are some other design masters and legends you get inspired from?

SDT : Yes, many masters at home and abroad have given great inspiration.

DL: What are your favorite designs by other designers, why do you like them?

SDT : Distinctive style.

DL: What is your greatest design, which aspects of that design makes you think it is great?

SDT : The emotional elements are integrated to make the design better.

DL: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?

SDT : Watch life more.

DL: If you hadn’t become a designer, what would you have done?

SDT : Appreciate and learn more excellent works and cases.

DL: How do you define design, what is design for you?

SDT : A great career to change people's life style and promote the development of human civilization.

DL: Who helped you to reach these heights, who was your biggest supporter?

SDT : Family is the biggest supporter.

DL: What were the obstacles you faced before becoming a design master?

SDT : Find your own unique position.

DL: How do you think designers should present their work?

SDT : Show the representative works that fit the positioning.

DL: What’s your next design project, what should we expect from you in future?

SDT : Combine Chinese characters with chocolate food.

DL: What’s your ultimate goal as a designer?

SDT : Become the representative of Chinese cultural design.

DL: What people expect from an esteemed designer such as yourself?

SDT : Enhance the world influence of Chinese brands.

DL: How does design help create a better society?

SDT : Help people live a better life with design.

DL: What are you currently working on that you are especially excited about?

SDT : Designed for Chinese culture.

DL: Which design projects gave you the most satisfaction, why?

SDT : Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, China Resources Snow, Ningxia red and other projects.

DL: What would you like to see changed in design industry in the coming years?

SDT : I hope to see Chinese culture bloom.

DL: Where do you think the design field is headed next?

SDT : More diversified and more open, Chinese style design will occupy a more important position.

DL: How long does it take you to finalize a design project?

SDT : According to the size of the project, the general project needs 2-3 months.

DL: When you have a new design project, where do you start?

SDT : Product and consumer research.

DL: What is your life motto as a designer?

SDT : If something is to continue to shine, it must absorb its essence, otherwise it is only a fleeting trend. Don't forget to start, a lasting work must have roots.

DL: Do you think design sets the trends or trends set the designs?

SDT : Trends determine design.

DL: What is the role of technology when you design?

SDT : Technology is used to implement ideas.

DL: What kind of design software and equipment do you use in your work?

SDT : Adobe Illustrator，Adobe Photoshop，CorelDRAW；Apple computer。

DL: What is the role of the color, materials and ambient in design?

SDT : Better performance design renderings.

DL: What do you wish people to ask about your design?

SDT : I hope to put forward suggestions for improvement.

DL: When you see a new great design or product what comes into your mind?

SDT : Think about the essence of expression through the surface of the work.

DL: Who is your ideal design partner? Do you believe in co-design?

SDT : Trust my team.

DL: Which people you interacted had the most influence on your design?

SDT : With customers, collectors, writers, they all have a positive impact.

DL: Which books you read had the most effect on your design?

SDT : Design, history and collection.

DL: How did you develop your skills as a master designer?

SDT : Improve yourself by learning.

DL: Irrelative of time and space, who you would want to meet, talk and discuss with?

SDT : Confucius in China.

DL: How do you feel about all the awards and recognition you had, is it hard to be famous?

SDT : It's a phased reward for effort.

DL: What is your favorite color, place, food, season, thing and brand?

SDT : A wide range of interests.

DL: What makes your day great as a designer, how do you motivate yourself?

SDT : Reading and thinking.

DL: When you were a little child, was it obvious that you would become a great designer?

SDT : No, it isn't. It's the result of effort.

DL: What do you think about future; what do you see will happen in thousand years from now?

SDT : Small deposits flow into rivers.
