Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer Javad Negin ("JN") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: Could you please tell us a bit about your design background and education?

JN : I started designing with graphic design and after working a while, in this job, I became interested in jewelry design. To become a jewelry designer this great passion pushes me to study and practice and research.

DL: What motivates you to design in general, why did you become a designer?

JN : Creation always is the most attractive part of my life, either poetry, creation of a bit, or a character and creates a jewel. Creating always is a source of energy to continue this task.

DL: Did you choose to become a designer, or you were forced to become one?

JN : I study civil engineering but my intense jewelry design got me into the world of jewelry design.

DL: What do you design, what type of designs do you wish to design more of?

JN : Now I design more in the field of jewelry but I am very interested in designing the product.

DL: What should young designers do to become a design legend like you?

JN : It is not difficult, gain updated knowledge, research, and practice, practice, and practice.

DL: What distinguishes between a good designer and a great designer?

JN : The design I think a great designer is a person who is predominant in all aspects of his job, from material to production.

DL: What makes a good design a really good design, how do you evaluate good design?

JN : I think all the designs are nice and beautiful, but the design that we might regard as ugly or conventional, the more time they need to be completed.

DL: What would you design and who would you design for if you had the time?

JN : I design with love for the heart and the spirit of people and always try to design something that conveys a part of my soul.

DL: What is the dream project you haven’t yet had time to realize?

JN : Gaining A'design Platinum award is one of my most important goals and cooperation with Stephen Webster is the most important dream.

DL: What is your secret recipe of success in design, what is your secret ingredient?

JN : The only key to the success I can tell you to do is, practicing and do not get tired. If one person is not able to! You definitely could.

DL: Who are some other design masters and legends you get inspired from?

JN : . I always observe all the designers and every one of their plans, but I always try to bring the source of my ideas from another world.

DL: What are your favorite designs by other designers, why do you like them?

JN : The Shaun Leane designs always attract me and I have a certain relationship with the visual beauty of their work.

DL: What is your greatest design, which aspects of that design makes you think it is great?

JN : The Conch collection was the first and most beautiful plan I implemented and entered the world of jewelry design with this collection.

DL: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?

JN : I think study and practice are the main points for a designer and the result of a designer's great amount of knowledge will being able to create an immortal design.

DL: If you hadn’t become a designer, what would you have done?

JN : If I was not a designer Id could become a composer or a poet. My desire to create an artistic effect always is unchangeable.

DL: Who helped you to reach these heights, who was your biggest supporter?

JN : I still have a long way but I thank all my friends who had helped me in this path.

DL: What helped you to become a great designer?

JN : I still have a gap with excellent but practice and study is the most important principle of success.

DL: What were the obstacles you faced before becoming a design master?

JN : there were no obstacles in my way because I paved it with patience and effort.

DL: How do you think designers should present their work?

JN : Offering a design is the most important part of designing that the designers should try to manifest the best quality in render, picture, or advertisement.

DL: What’s your next design project, what should we expect from you in future?

JN : The next project I have worked on is a product design which is one of my favorites to continue in this profession.

DL: What’s your ultimate goal as a designer?

JN : Registering a creative and classy brand that is always enrolled in history. I like becoming immortal.

DL: What people expect from an esteemed designer such as yourself?

JN : First of all, do not copy other works and expand the idea of others. The second one is to create a long-lasting design that becomes the source of inspiration for other designers. In all design fields.

DL: What are you currently working on that you are especially excited about?

JN : Currently, in the corona condition, the books of the poetry and design encyclopedias motivate me and make me feel well.

DL: Which design projects gave you the most satisfaction, why?

JN : One of the most significant projects which are still in process is the GEMODART project, which is complemented by a professional-day team.

DL: How long does it take you to finalize a design project?

JN : Usually, to create a new idea, from ideation to product takes 6 3 to 6 months.

DL: When you have a new design project, where do you start?

JN : Research is our first step to face new design and mentality.

DL: What is your life motto as a designer?

JN : Create all the moments of your life.

DL: Do you think design sets the trends or trends set the designs?

JN : I think these two give meanings to each other, and both are complementary.

DL: What is the role of technology when you design?

JN : It causes the design process faster, especially the software helps to improve the quality and accuracy of the work.

DL: What kind of design software and equipment do you use in your work?

JN : There is much software that I currently work with, the most important of them is rhino6.

DL: When you see a new great design or product what comes into your mind?

JN : I learn from new designs and ideas, and always I focus on the implementation of that plan.

DL: Who is your ideal design partner? Do you believe in co-design?

JN : Melika Etemadi who took the bronze this year with her. I trust the teamwork and the minimum result is gaining the bronze award this year.

DL: Which people you interacted had the most influence on your design?

JN : Those who had knowledge In Design and gave me a new attitude. Ms. Etemadi and Mr. eftekhariyan are among these loved ones.

DL: How did you develop your skills as a master designer?

JN : Only with learning and a lot of time that I spend on this profession. I improve my software knowledge and I always tried to take advantage of the tools I mastered.

DL: Irrelative of time and space, who you would want to meet, talk and discuss with?

JN : The persons that I'd love to meet and talk to. Leila Abdollahi (a jewelry designer in London). Wallace chan. Stephen Webster, Shaun Leane.

DL: What is your favorite color, place, food, season, thing and brand?

JN : My favorite color is red. Bali is my favorite place, the favorite season is the Spring, the burger is my favorite food and I am very passionate about the rain.

DL: What makes your day great as a designer, how do you motivate yourself?

JN : I usually begin the morning with reading poetry then I can be able to foster new ideas with an open mind. And the new ideas are my motivation to continue my work.

DL: When you were a little child, was it obvious that you would become a great designer?

JN : Since my childhood creating artwork is an attractive part of my hobbies and I liked to be a designer then became a doctor or engineer. I just want them to know that I am working for my future and I am busy and there is nothing happened by chance.
