LEGENDARY INTERVIEW

Design Legends ("DL") had the distinct honour to interview legendary designer SPARKLY IDENTITY DESIGN ("SID") for their original perspective and innovative approach to design as well as their creative lifestyle, we are very pleased to share our interview with our distinguished readers.

DL: How could people improve themselves to be better designers, what did you do?

SID : People are always frightened of change. When we stumble into an invariable, same-old pattern, you will find it impossible to make a different move. However, the world and time change very quickly, so designers must always know their limits and forge ahead to face the surrounding variations. In addition, designers must also develop diverse interests in many things and maintain their curiosity about everything new via sharp observation. As long as we can keep ourselves flexible, we can fearlessly meet any variation, difficulty or challenge instead of worrying about failure.

DL: How do you define design, what is design for you?

SID : To me, design is a sort of thinking and a representation of progress. I hope to simplify complex visual communication through design, and present the easy and interesting side of this idea to the public. I would say that my design is in between sense and sensibility. I leave my sensibility to transmit essences of a commodity and bring out the desires inside a consumer. On the other hand, I also leave my sense to gain insight into the market and put the brand in the right position.

DL: What is your life motto as a designer?

SID : Actually, there is none. From my experience, there are always different hurdles to overcome during different phases. I have been a designer since I was eighteen, so I always push myself to change my thoughts in order to cope with the huge changes in the market that occur every year or two years.
